TO COVER OR NOT TO COVER YOUR TATTOO?

Recently I have a bride who has asked my opinion whether to conceal her body tattoo for her wedding day.

Well, on your wedding day if it’s a must to cover up your creative personality then airbrushing technique will be a popular choice amongst brides and their makeup artist.

In my personal opinion, as a makeup artist that has covered tattoos on brides and their bridesmaids is to conceal your tattoo. Firstly, our Asian culture weddings in Malaysia are still generally considered being conservative. Tattoos showing at a traditional wedding are sometimes not too popular amongst parents and their friends. Also, it may contribute “eye sore” to the older generation. To them, wedding symbolized purity. Also, I feel that wedding gowns looks great with flawless skin and create a timeless classic photo too.

On the other hand, I think if you have tattoos and you and/or your husband want your wedding to be about you, then I feel that it is ok to let them show. Everyone that will attend your wedding has already seen your tattoos and they love you for you. So if they accepted it when they first met you, I feel they will not want to see you hide a part of you. Just know when thinking about getting your first tattoo that somewhere down the line you may be asked to be in a wedding or that you will be a bride one day. So, love your ink and enjoy your day inked up or not.

The day has come, one of the most important days in a bride’s life, her WEDDING DAY. Naturally, this topic will come up throughout the planning by many is TATTOOS, should it or should it not be covered? Many brides fight with this challenge if they are inked up and or if their wedding party is.
